FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we are in network with BlueCross BlueShield of Michigan, Blue Care Network, & Priority Health. We do not take Medicaid plans at this time. For those who are out of network, we can provide a Superbill document to submit to your insurer. Please note that the client is responsible for submitting the Superbill to their insurance.

Please inquire with your insurer to ensure we are in network with your specific plan.

What is your private pay rate?

Private pay rate is based on individual circumstance. Please reach out to inquire and together we will establish an appropriate payment for services based on your personal circumstances.

Please note, payment is due at the time of service.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. See details here.

What is Somatic Therapy?

Somatic therapies are bottom-up (or body-based) approaches to addressing unresolved trauma & stress responses in the body. There are many somatic therapies and what we practice is called Somatic Experiencing therapy. When we go through something traumatic, we can get stuck in chronic fight, flight or freeze states. Somatic therapy can help resolve these chronic states and help integrate new states of being in the body. This leads to an overall greater sense of resilience and fulfillment in life.

What is a somatic therapy session like?

Your first session will be about gathering information, creating a treatment plan aligned with your personal goals, and hopefully some listening to the body & it’s messages. In the course of our work together, we will blend traditional psychotherapy with somatic techniques. Meeting you where you’re at is our main goal. Somatic therapy can feel slow, think “slow & steady wins the race”. This is because we have to move slower in order to notice the nuances in the body’s messages. Somatic therapy has also been referred to as “play therapy for adults”. Expect play & curiosity to be a part of every session. We will tiptoe into the hard stuff rather than diving in, in most cases.

Cancellation Policy

We appreciate your business and want to ensure that you receive the best service possible. Therefore, we request that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel your appointment. This allows us to offer the opening to another client and helps you to stay on track with your goals.

Please be aware that a $100 cancellation/no show fee applies for late cancellations & no shows. However, if you are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances such as severe illness, hazardous weather, or emergency, we will waive the fee.

We understand that life is unpredictable, and one missed session can be excused. We call it our "grace" policy, and we are happy to offer it to all our clients.
